[MacBook] Free Macworld iWorld exhibit hall pass

If you are going to be in the San Francisco Bay Area between January 26 and 28, and you don't already have plans to attend the Macworld iWorld expo, this may change your mind. Group member Bernard Yin has generously pointed me towards an offer from his associates here..

http://www.campuscircle.com/coupons/

Use the provided "Source Code" for a free Exhibits Only registration to the show. That gets you in to all of the main vendor booths and food areas. It just doesn't include any of the special talks or presentations.

If you see me wandering from booth to booth, be sure to say "hi"!

Re: [MacBook] Offtopic: Linux network file shares

It depends on the file system; I think Linux can read/write HFS+ but not sure.

A common format ext3 can't be, but go find OSXFuse and install it. I believe it will work with that format.

[MacBook] Offtopic: Linux network file shares

I know that natively, OS X won't write to an NTFS (Windows file system) formatted drive, but what about the different flavors of Linux, such as Red Hat and the such??

Thanks for any insight.

Re: [MacBook] private browsing

Google Chrome calls it "incognito mode"....same as private browsing.
When you don't want your website visits or downloads to be recorded in your browsing and download histories, you can browse in incognito mode. In addition, any cookies created while in incognito mode are deleted after you close the incognito window.     Karen

What is 'private browsing'?
And what does it do?

Re: [MacBook] private browsing

I found it. One of the drop downs underneath Safari like you said. Thanks Elaine.

Private browsing can be found in the drop down menu underneath the word "Safari."

[MacBook] Re: Latest MacBook Pro & Flash

Google Chrome is a PITA when it comes to Quicktime. Whenever I try to run a QT clip on a website, an alert pops up that says, "Quicktime needs your permission to run on this site." It then offers me a choice to run this once, or anytime on this site. I've been to the online help and the Plugins Management page, and see no option to allow Quicktime to run anywhere, anytime, an action of which every other browser on the green hills of Earth is capable. What am I missing?

Also - is there a good autofill plugin for Firefox? By which I mean one that can read what is already in the Mac keychain and not require me to fill in every dang password first time around?

Thanks for all.
