Re: [MacBook] Restoring folder into the dock

Amba,

You can drag any file or folder from a Finder window to the Dock, but they can only go after the apps at the end, in their own special section. Could that be why it hasn't worked for you so far?

Documents in the Dock is merely an alias of Documents in your User folder. Go to your User folder, click on Documents and drag it to where you want it placed in your Dock.

Re: [MacBook] Clip Art

What are you trying to import?

If you are importing photos, and only JPEG seems to work, you could always open the photos in Preview and re-save them as JPEG.

Quick method:

When you are done scanning (JPEG, PNG, PDF, whatever), drag them (all together) into Preview. It will open one image up front, then show you the rest in a side drawer. Drag-drop into the correct order, if they aren't already.

Print, then use Save as PDF… in the print dialog.

Because this uses the print engine, however, it may introduce extra margins, force each image onto a letter- or A4-sized background, etc.

More control method:

Scan all images as PDF, then drag/open them all together into Preview. In the side drawer, you can drag the others (one by one) onto the first "page" and Preview will create a multiple page PDF file. When you're done dragging and everything is in order, save.

Apple has a support document covering this..

Re: [MacBook] Scan

Scan into a PDF rather than individual images.

[MacBook] Re: Time Machine problem/question

Hello to the Group,

I had a Gremlin in the Airport WiFi Networks.

I was able to back up both computers to the Time Capsule via an ethernet cable and also to another separate hard drive via a USB cable. So Time Machine and Time Capsule seemed to be working just fine so long as I was hard wired to a network or hard drive.

Curiously I was able to get on the internet using Airport but for some reason I was not able to connect to the Time Capsule hard drive using Airport.

So I wiped the data clean on Airport to factory defaults and re-entered all the network names and passwords.

I found out the administrator network is the only one that permits connection to the Time Capsule hard drive. I think this is where the glitch was. I don't remember seeing two networks on Airport and I must have "lost" the one that permitted connection to the Time Capsule Drive.

Thanks guys for all the support. There was a lot of head scratching on my end. I am sure I have everything working now.

Bill
