Re: [MacBook] App Store

I do not know how to start it but I dont see it being an issue if your MBP
has the hardware to not slow down going to SL. App Store is checking to make
sure the apps you buy from the store are up to date

[MacBook] App Store

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro from Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) to 10.6 (Snow Leopard). The upgrade went well.

However, now when I boot the system, it starts App Store.app. I don't want to start up in App Store. How do I stop App Store from executing when I start the system ?

I assume the problem is some setting somewhere or some startup folder, but I haven't been able to find anything like that. Perhaps I missed some choice during the system upgrade.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

[MacBook] Multi-device Sync Question

I'm having the devil's own time getting synching straightened out between my
iPad, iPhone, and Macbook (as well as office Windows machine).

Background: MacBook Pro running OSX 10.7.1 with iCal and Mac Office 2011
(default) Outlook synching through iSynch to my iPad2, iPhone, and office
Windows laptop running Ms Office 2007.

Problem: I've got multiple entries of calendar events being displayed across
all devices and I can't get it straightened out. As I clear out entries,
they are repopulated with the next synchronization.

Obviously I'm missing key steps.

Can anyone shed light on how I should approach synchronizing across multiple
devices?

Thanks,

Art

[MacBook] Re: iPhone Sync Question

IT WORKED!

I had downloaded 9.2 which did not work. So I downloaded (from your link) 9.2.1.

Had to consider installing it while getting the courage from a few glasses or wine. Finally got the courage and pressed the button.

You see, I know that Apple is doing it's BEST to disable Cydia software. So, I thought that any upgrade could be a compromise.

Well, I am here to confirm (to anyone interested) that iTunes 9.2.1 does not compromise early Cydia software or apps. I am quite convinced that any later versions of iTunes will have an affect on Cydia.

So bottom line, all is back to normal. AND, I finally got to Sync again after a six week disruption. Don't know what caused the disruption. But, glad to be BACK IN SYNC!

THANK YOU to all who responded!

Or use John's link to download iTunes 9.2.1 and remind me to read all messages before replying to an early one. :)

Re: [MacBook] iPhone Sync Question

I was thinking maybe she still had the old iTunes 9 installer in her Downloads folder, or maybe someone else does. It's possible Apple still has it up on a server somewhere. A query on their official discussion boards couldn't hurt.

I can't believe Apple doesn't make this available somewhere.

Hi Rob (& any others with advice),

I installed Pacifist and followed instructions. Most packages showed up--but not iTunes. I sent an email to their support but it was returned as "undeliverable".

So, I uploaded a screen shot of the packages that were made available and what I saw on screen. It is in the photo section (when approved by moderators) in the "Pacifist" folder.

Would be VERY GRATEFUL for any further suggestions...?

THANKS!

Debra
