[MacBook] bounce feature in mail

I used to be able to BOUNCE back unwanted emails in Snow Leopard, but since upgrading to Lion have not been able to. Does anyone know of a workaround or solution to this? This is a link to Apple's instructions on bouncing but it seems to apply only to Snow leopard. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mail/4.0/en/9919.html

[MacBook] zoom in Mail and Safari.

I am using OS 10.7.3 LION the most recent as far as I know. Since upgrading I have not been able to use the multi touch command where you spread two fingers to zoom in. This is for both Mail and Safari applications. I do know that it is possible to zoom in by clicking on the large "A" icon in the toolbar and on the small "A" to zoom out in the toolbar.
However, but I want to be able to navigate without having to move my mouse up to the toolbar so that my hand motions are more intuitive. This was totally possible in the previous operating system Snow Leopard. Anyone have the same problem and have a solution to this issue?

This is an interesting topic. Which operating system are you using and referring to as I cannot find the files mentioned in your response when going into the "library" folder.

Im not a fan of the migration tool!

In my experience, when moving from a machine that has been in use for 5-ish years, 60 percent of what the tool migrates you dont need anyway..... This is just my opinion. I dont like stale stuff.

Merging two mac mail accounts I dont think can be done. I usually recommend just initializimg the new mail program (by launching it once) then overwriting the following key folders/file:
/library/app support/addressbook
/library/mail
/library/preferences/com/apple.mail.plist

As previuosly mentioned, this will OVERWRITE anything you have already downloaded or set up in the new mac mail app.

Sorry I cant offer a better solution. Hopefully you started recently with the new machine and there are just a few emails to forward yourself or addresses to re-create!

Did you ever get an answer to this?
I am no expert, but, easiest method for a complete transfer to a new computer is using the Migration tool. This transfers everything, user accounts, settings, etc. . If you only care about Mail, all of your email, rules, etc are in your main Library folder under Mail. If you just copy that folder, it will replace everything on the new computer, so anything on the new computer gets wiped.

And .... by the time the "weird stuff and the bugs" are taken care of, a newer version will appear or be just on the horizon!

And .... I'd rather see a non-computer "issue" discussed than none at all but that might not be the majority opinion!    Karen

Me, I'm not spending the money until the weird stuff, bugs, etc, flush thru the system to start with, etc. And then I have to get my wife to agree. Oh, well, it was fun to think about...

Getting a little bored are we? Hasn't someone got a nice mysterious error message or odd crash to post and get help with (hopefully)?

;-)

That said, there is a certain giddiness that comes from anticipation after ordering, isn't there? Me, I'm not spending the money until the weird stuff, bugs, etc, flush thru the system to start with, etc. And then I have to get my wife to agree. Oh, well, it was fun to think about...

[MacBook] ups shipping route from KY to N Calif

For people who have ordered before, what is the route my new ipad will take from the UPS hub in KY, to N. Calif. ?

My hope and guess would be to Mather Air Base out side of sacramento.

Also when will it start to move. ? Has a delivery date of 3-16 by the end of the day.

Thanks

Alex

Basic guidelines:

1. This is a group of fellow users. This is not Apple. We do our best to share experiences and help others. Ask, participate, share, comment, gossip, enjoy, but leave the soapbox and sensationalism at home.

2. No spam. No advertising unless approved by the moderator. No discussion of cracks or pirating which could endanger the list.

3. No personal attacks. Offenders will be banned without warning.

4. Trim your quotes! This includes leftover Yahoo footers and signatures. Members who continually quote 60 lines, and only enter 2 of their own, may find themselves permanently moderated (or unable to post at all).

5. Please limit your signatures to 5 lines maximum, and do not post from any location which inserts legal disclaimer footers. If you cannot control this feature (by an employer, for example), please use the web site to post. Remember, this is a fully public group. Personal info in signatures, like email address and phone number, are probably best kept private. When in doubt, post without.

6. The official language of this list is English. We only make this declaration to keep things simple and prevent abuse.

In order to foil spam bots, all new members are automatically moderated. This may cause your first post to be delayed in reaching the list, but rest assured that it is worth the effort. Yahoo doesn't offer any other way to control spam, and their filtering is a joke, so this is all we have.
