You can simply copy and paste into most e.mail programs and make part of
your 'signature'. I did in Gmail and it works just fine.

Thanks everyone for your responses!  Alt+shift+k works great for me :) Two more questions please - some have suggested Option+shift+k - sorry for my ignorance but where do I find the 'Option' key!? Second question - can I produce the  on my iPhone too?

I am one happy bunny :)

Yes, but it is not an emoticon, it is a character in a font set.
