Re: [MacBook] Flashback virus?

I did the update, it found another piece of malware, removed it. All fine here now.

Re: [MacBook] Flashback virus?

Carry out the latest on-line software update: (Software Update from the Apple menu) you'll find that a fix has been developed and is available for installation. It's quick and simple, so worry no more.

John

[MacBook] Flashback virus?

Friends of mine are concerned about the Flashback virus.
Here's an article:

How to know if your Mac is infected with the Flashback virus (and how
to fix it)

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/technology-blog/know-mac-infected-flashback-virus-fix-181632690.html

How much of a problem is this? What are the symptoms of infection?
What should we do?

"Software update" a few days ago included a security update from Apple
so I installed that; presumably it will protect my MacBook Pro if it
has not been infected. The article above mentions ways to find out if
your Mac is infected and to remove the virus, but they're not from
Apple and I don't know the company so I hesitate to use them.

[MacBook] TW EQ Bringing in Sony Handycam video on a MBP

2012 04 16

We purchased a Sony HandyCam (XDR XR160) a short time back and now would like to transfer video(s) to our Macs (running OS 10.6.8) for viewing and editing. But reading the manual got me worried, since it seems to slough off Mac users (contact Apple for help...) on the transfer question. The web was not a big help.

There is a 160 GB HD and a chip slot on the C Corder. Can I use USB to make the transfer or do I need some sort of HDMI cable, etc?

Does anyone have a cookbook for this?

Many thanks,

Jim Hardwick

[MacBook] Re: MacBook does not print via Time Capsule / Airport network

Hummerbydesign.

Yep. Did all that and no change. Matter of fact did it to the working MacBook and it is still working fine. The troubled one still does not print. Must admit it has me stumped. Maybe a preference file that is corrupted in the troubled MacBook? Not sure.

[MacBook] Re: MacBook does not print via Time Capsule / Airport network

I'm not sure, but I looked up your problem on the Apple site, and here is a link to its answer. Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule https://support.apple.com/kb/TS1253
Let us know if you find the issue.
