That's what I thought. I was in Gmail. Anyway, I copied the 'apple' you
sent, pasted it into my signature option in Gmail, works like a charm. Will
used when I'm so inclined.

It works while composing in Apple Mail. Not sure if this will survive the trip through Yahoo's servers.

[MacBook] New member

Hi Everyone,
I am new to your group and also to Apple Macbooks. My granddaughter has a Macbook and has asked me to troubleshoot a problem she is having. I have built and repaired PC's for quite a few years, but have never worked on an Apple.
Her problem is that her computer will not turn on. No sound of the fan or harddisk spinning. Just a blank screen. I took the laptop apart and replaced the uppercase cable. Now the computer will start up if I have the uppercase loose and hold it at about a 30 degree incline. It will keep running when I lower the uppercase, but no response from the keyboard or mouse.
What should I now look for?
TIA,
Harry
