[MacBook] Old iPod and MBP w/ OS 10.7.4?

My MacBook Pro runs OS 10.7.4. I recently found an iPod Mini from 2005 that I had never used. Tried to install the iPod software but the MBP says it won't work with it.

Is there any way to fix this? adTHANKSvance!

[MacBook] Mail & 10.7.4: Where Are My Attachments etc.?

I upgraded to OS 10.7.4 for good reasons, but didn't know that it would not let me use Eudora for mail, which I have used for about 15 years. Now I'm using "Mail" which came with my MBP, but having some problems getting used to it.

Most notably, where are the mail files and attachments? Eudora had them in a "Eudora Folder" but "Mail" does not have an equivalent folder. I want to know where they are so I can (1) be sure I back them up, and (2) delete attachments or open them with any application I want to use.

A search with Finder finds attachments in a folder called Library inside a folder with my name, but I can't find the Library folder there.

Assistance appreciated. adTHANKSvance!

Re: [MacBook] How to Reset TERMINAL.app on MacBook Pro

G,

OnyX - This worked, thank you SO MUCH Glenn!!! I am truly so very happy now. My Shift-Command-4 now makes JPGs in 10.7.4, I am so very happy about that.
I really appreciate it. Really, so happy, I make screenshots alot, this totally helps.

Blessings to you.

Hi Dale,

Terminal is simply a tool that lets you get down to the command line layer of OS X/Unix and, in this case, directly edit some system settings. So you don't need to reset Terminal itself. You need to reset whatever settings were borked.

If you are a beginner at this, I'd recommend using a free tool like Onyx. It lets you adjust "hidden" OS settings like this, but gives you a graphical interface in which to do it. Much easier/safer.

If that doesn't work, let us know exactly what you typed into Terminal.

Good luck!

[MacBook] How to Reset TERMINAL.app on MacBook Pro

System Software issue: How to Reset TERMINAL.app on MacBook Pro:

I recently upgraded my system software from 10.6.8, to Lion 10.7.4. With 10.6.8 my Shift-Command-4 Screenshots were JPGs. now with 10.7.4 they are .PNG files by default.

I have heard there is a text to paste into the Terminal.app under Applications/Utilities/Terminal - I tried that and messed it up somehow. Now I cant take screenshots at all. I tried to Restore my Terminal.app to last weeks settings via Time Macine Restore, but since it is System software it won't restore. So, now what do I do?

I know about using Grab for Screenshots but the default file format on that is .Tiff and there are too many steps. I take Lots of screenshots and the MacBook keystrokes worked very well except that there have begun to be .PNGs. I would be happy to just get back to the PNGs at this point.

Any ideas very much welcome.

Thank you!

Aside from my more-reliable Gmail and private server email accounts, I have some older ones on Yahoo, Live (MS) and AOL. They randomly error out, telling Mail that my password is wrong when it worked 5 minutes prior, and that causes Mail to turn around and ask for your password again. You can hit 'Cancel' to leave your password as-is.

If you are using IMAP with these services, you could try reverting to good old POP3/SMTP. That's slightly less error-prone, since it's simpler.

But it's not Apple Mail at fault. Any remote email app will have the same problem if the server doesn't act right.

[MacBook] Email app options?

With my pc I used Firefox and had a tab for yahoo mail and a tab for gmail and now and then a tab to check the other two. With my new MBP I clicked on the stamp with the eagle and put my 4 emails into it. On one of the two yahoo emails it repeatedly asks for my password even though I click save to the keychain. Also, it repeatedly puts a tilde next to it and makes it offline or something.

Is there a good email freeware or shareware?

Is it better to just use Safari and go online like I used to?

Thanks for any and all advice.
